The BBC Film company normally on a average give around £4 million to the films they produce. Meaning the rest of the films money came from the directer Ben Drew also known as Plan B. In order to complete the film's post production the distribution rights were sold to Revolver Entertainment.

- What is the target audience of Ill Manors?
I would think the demographics for this film would be people in the D / E groups, young teenagers to young adult's, people who are unemployed or students who don't have a jobs because they're still under full time education. I also think the psychographics of this film would be targeted at strugglers as they feel alienated from society and can't really do much. Also, reformers as they wan't freedom of restrictions.

- Who is the main distributor of Ill Manors?
The main distributors are Revolver Entertainment.

-How was Ill Manors promoted?
Plan B used this music career to promote the film by promoting the music album and sound track that was made after the film was made. Also, by doing live concerts and performances of the songs from the film and album. He then had a album launch party, the location also helped promote the film as it was set in a underground car park and Labrinth said "it's like a dungeon, but it works with the Ill Manors concept".

- Compare this with a big budge blockbuster. What are the main similarities and differences?
- Ill Manors compared to Fast 5:

The actors in Ill Manors aren't as known as the actors from Fast 5. Ill Manors can't afford to have car crashing, banks being knocked out and trains being destroyed, whereas Fast 5 can because they have a big budget. The locations of Ill Manors is on a estate and Fast 5 is set in Rio and has different locations within Rio. Fast 5 has a lot more audience viewers as it's the 5th film they made. Somethings they have that are similar is the concept, crime .. Fast 5 as the main characters plan to steal $100 million off a corrupt business man and Ill Manors isn't as big but has people stealing off one another and the film's based on the 2011 riots with the teenagers looting London.

- How does the trailer for Ill Manors hook audiences into the narrative and pose questions that the film will answer? Identify 3 ways/techniques?

The trailer hooks audiences into the narrative because it looks exciting and entertaining. The editing is really effective with the use of quick shots as it adds to the action which is entertaining for many people. The song played at the end is all parallel and it's catchy. It sticks in the audience head, as the directer is a music producer it appeals to the audience which makes them want to watch it. Finally, the content of the trailer, Mise-en-scene .. the costumes with the hats and hoodies appeals to teenagers because that's what they can relate to, the violence is another thing most of the kids from the estates can relate to. The propps for example the gun and the drugs shows the film will be entertaining and will attract many teenagers. Mostly boys, however the trailer also shows women involved with the violence. Another reason girls would be attracted to this film is because a lot of the male actors are good looking, girls are attracted to the bad boy type thus appealing to girls as well as boys.

- How does the trailer for Ill Manors balance plot and spectacle?
Ask sir ..

- Think about the certificate of Ill Manors (18 certificate). Research film certification and outline what is deemed acceptable for this certificate. What is the difference between a 15 certificate and an 18 certificate?
15 certificate: Strong violence- could be a lot and sometimes there is stronger language but not a lot, strong language, sexual activity- is allowed however any portrayal of sexual violence must be discreet and have a strong contextual justification, drug taking- is allowed however must not promote or encourage drug misuse. misuse of drugs such as solvents is unlikely to be accepted in a 15.
18 certificate: Very strong violence, very strong language, strong portrayals of sexual activity, strong blood and gore scenes, real sex- very strong, crude and explicit sex references are permitted.
